Mission Statement
Rocky Mountain Protective Services, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Sponsor") is dedicated to train and certify the general public in basic pistol for the purpose of applying for a Colorado Concealed carry permit. The Basic Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a weapon safely. This course is 10-hours long and taught in one day, five (5) hours in the morning and five (5) hours in the afternoon and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.

Students learn rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting using the two handed and one handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.

Students are required to supply their own ammo. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, Gun Safety Rules brochure, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, course completion certificate, and Lesson Plan (revised 9-05).

The normal cost for certified training is $150.00. If you Pre-pay online, you will receive a $20 discount, for a total training cost of $130.00.

If you are paying at the time of class, a $45 non-refundable fee is required with your mail-in application to secure your space in the class. This fee is a non-refundable.
